Eurail –
Which one works for you?
Eurail Make a
Reservation The Eurailpass is slightly different from the Europass,
it includes more countries and you are allowed to travel on consecutive
days. The Eurailpass countries include Austria, Belgium, Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg,
Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The Eurailpass allows you five days of consecutive travel within a
specific time period. This time period can range from fifteen days to
three months. The Rail Protector Plan is also available if you suspect
that you might lose your Eurailpass. In the event that your pass is
lost/stolen, you will be reimbursed for the unused portion of the pass.
The Eurailpass Flexi is the basic Eurailpass except it allows for a
variety of traveling durations. You can choose to travel ten or fifteen
days within a two-month period. The Eurailpass Flexi is significantly
more expensive than the basic Eurailpass. The Eurailpass Saver has to
include two to five people traveling at the same time. No more than five
people and no less than two people. You have a choice of fifteen or
twenty-one days of consecutive travel within a one to three month time
period. The Rail Protector Plan is also available if you suspect that
you might lose your Eurailpass. In the event that your pass is
lost/stolen, you will be reimbursed for the unused portion of the pass.
Eurail Make a Reservation and Price a Ticket The Eurailpass
SaverFlexi is a combination of the Saver and Flexi. This requires a
minimum of two people or a maximum of five people traveling
simultaneously. You can choose to purchase the pass for ten days of
travel over one month or fifteen days of travel in two months. The Rail
Protector Plan is also available if you suspect that you might lose your
Eurailpass. In the event that your pass is lost/stolen, you will be
reimbursed for the unused portion of the pass.
The Eurailpass Youth requires that you are less than 26 years old.
This is cheaper than the basic Eurailpass. You can choose to buy the
pass with fifteen or twenty-one consecutive days of travel or between
one and three months of unlimited travel. The Rail Protector Plan is
also available if you suspect that you might lose your Eurailpass. In
the event that your pass is lost/stolen, you will be reimbursed for the
unused portion of the pass.
The Eurailpass YouthFlexi combines the Youth and Flexi passes. You
need to be less than 26 years old. You can travel either ten or fifteen
days within two months at a discounted price. So this is basically the
Flexi pas at a discounted rate. The Rail Protector Plan is also
available if you suspect that you might lose your Eurailpass. In the
event that your pass is lost/stolen, you will be reimbursed for the
unused portion of the pass.
If you plan on driving, the EurailDrive pass might be what you are
looking for. Within two months, you receive four days of travel and two
days of car rental. The price varies depending on what type of car you
plan to rent. Additional days will also have an extra charge.
If you plan to just explore one country for a long period of time,
you might find the single country Eurail pass interesting. You receive
unlimited train travel within that country (has to be one of the
seventeen countries mentioned earlier - Austria, Belgium, Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg,
Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland).
Some countries are more expensive to travel in than others are. It is
much more expensive to travel within the UK than Italy or France. So
plan your itinerary and figure out what’s best for your trip.
